XPLOR

Today is Day 4 of our cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Majesty of the Sea. We have a Royal Caribbean excursion booked today in Cozumel. Our excursion starts as soon as the ship docks. It started at 8:30am. We get off the ship, go to a water shuttle for a 30 minute ride to Playa Del Carmen then walk a few blocks to a bus that would take us to our excursion at XPLOR.  It’s always nice to have a backpack for excursions like this for a change of clothes.  Also water shoes are a must have for excursions like this.

We have a guide for this excursion. As we arrived at XPLOR our guide told us what we were going to do and in what order so that we maximize our time as we didn’t have the time to do it all.

As we walked in to the park we were guided through a cave. It was so beautiful.

We started by ziplining. They have 2 different ziplining lines both have 7 zip-lines and total 2.4 miles but we only had time for the shorter one. They are the tallest in Cancun and Riviera Maya.

After our incredible ziplining we move on to some amphibious vehicles. You drive through the jungle, across bridges, in water, and through caves. They have 2 tracks totaling 3 miles. The vehicles sit up to 4 people. The driver must be 18 years old a have ID. These vehicles were made to drive through lots of water and rough roads as they are made by John Deere.

After the fun cars it’s time to have lunch. They have a buffet that is included in our package. The buffet is huge. They have seafood, burgers, and of course Mexican food. The food was pretty good as we ate fast because we were in a hurry to get to the next part of our excursion. We had lunch with a really nice couple from Texas.

We still have 2 more activities but only have time for 1 more. So now we have to decide between rafting or swimming. We picked the raft. There are 2 circuits of 623 and 580 yards. The rafts are underground with amazing views of the caves and ancient rock formations. You paddle the rafts with your hands as you have small paddles strapped to your hands.   Make sure you have an under water camera for this excursion.

We booked this excursion through Royal Caribbean. The excursion included all activities, transportation and lunch. We paid $156.99 per person. We had a great day. It’s time for us to change into dry clothes and get to our meeting spot. We missed seeing some of the park but since we were on a cruise we had to get back to the ship. So back to the bus then the long walk to our 30 minute shuttle ride to the ship.

We made it back on the ship now.

When you travel to Play De Carmen, this is an amazing excursion.  Here’s a link to get a good price.  If you are traveling by cruise ship I recommend that you book this excursion through the ship because it is very long and you don’t want to miss the ship.

Here’s the camera I bought for under water.  I love it and have had it for years.
