CORAL WORLD
We started planning our excursions months before the cruise. In searching for things to do in St Thomas we ran across CORAL WORLD. It looked like a fun place and they offer many different excursions.
I know you know what scuba diving is and what snorkeling is but what about SNUBA?? This is a combination of the two. It’s really cool and you don’t need a licence to do it. It gives you an idea of what its like to scuba dive. The difference is you don’t have a heavy tank on your back. You only have a hose that is long enough to reach a float on the surface of the water that has the air tanks on it. You can experience it here at CORAL WORLD.
Have you ever heard of SEA TREK?? You wear a SEA TREK helmet that provides your air and the weight needed to allow you to walk on the bottom of the ocean while holding on to a rope and being supervisor by a guide.
You will need a swimsuit and water shoes to do the Sea Trek excursion. Here are some water shoes that you may be interested in.
They also have a NAUTILUS – SEMI SUBMARINE. It has about 40 windows that allow you to see fish, turtles, stingrays, and more from underneath the surface of the water.
You can purchase a cup of nectar and hand feed some beautiful rainbow lorikeet and relax along a tropical nature walk.
The turtles encounter is cool. You learn all about the turtles and get to touch its shell. This one is eating lots of lettuce or romaine.
CORAL WORLD has a SEA LION ENCOUNTER where you learn about the sea lion and interact with him or her. This is done out of the water so if you want to stay dry this is the excursion for you. You still get a BIG KISS from the sea lion.
Now to our excursion SWIMMING WITH A SEA LION. It’s amazing. They are so playful and smart. We kind of missed our excursion time but thankfully the awesome people at CORAL WORLD put together a special swim for us. We had so much fun playing in the water with our new friend, ROMO. He loved swimming around us and playing. Thank you CORAL WORLD for the pictures.
We had an incredible experience at CORAL WORLD and will definitely go back. Right after we got home CORAL WORLD received 4 new residents, 4 dolphins! I look forward to enjoying the dolphin excursion soon and they also now have sharks for a shark swim excursion.
If you are ever in ST Thomas either by cruise ship or you are staying in a resort in St Thomas, visit CORAL WORLD! Make sure you bring a camera there is a lot do see and do here. Some cameras you may like if you need a new one.
