PIGEON FORGE – TENNESSEE
PIGEON FORGE is such a beautiful place. The GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS are all around the city. It’s in eastern Tennessee and home to DOLLY PARTON. The city is a big tourist place with Dollywood, Splash Country, the Titanic Museum, Hollywood Wax Museum, Southern Gospel Museum, Pigeon Forge Mill, The Island in Pigeon Forge, and many more. PIGEON FORGE is near GATLINBURG and there is a shuttle that runs between is cities throughout the day.
While in PIGEON FORGE we went to DOLLY’s DIXIE STAMPEDE and DOLLY’s LUMBERJACK ADVENTURE We loved them both. If you buy them with a group of other tickets online you get discounts. Also PIGEON FORGE has some good discount books online. [metaslider id=1113]
We also visited THE ISLAND. They have a lot going on there. We ate lunch at PAULA DEEN’s FAMILY KITCHEN. It was very good southern style cooking. You get lots of food but you pay for it. It’s a little expensive and you can’t take your leftovers with you. Some of the other restaurants there are Margaritaville, Mellow Mushroom, Timberwood Grill, Dick’s Last Resort and more. They have over 60 shops including Ole Smoky Moonshine. Also, they have activities like The Island Show Fountain, The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel, a Rope Course, Alcatraz East Crime Museum, a Maze, Miner’s Gems, Thunderdome, Bumper Cars, and much much more. www.islandinpigeonforge.com
If you have a few hours this is a great place to visit.
