My story begins by taking you back to New Years Eve 2018. We went on the Victory Casino New Year’s Eve Cruise and at midnight we won 2 – 2 night hotel stays at the EMBASSY SUITES DOWNTOWN ORLANDO in the balloon drop.

Now on to the weekend as we use one of the complimentary stays at the EMBASSY SUITES DOWNTOWN ORLANDO.

Excellent customer service began with the reservation call and continued throughout our 2 night stay. The valet welcomed us as we stepped out of the car and Joshua was all about customer service while checking us in. He was very friendly and informative.

Our room was a corner spacious suite. As we entered our suite, was a dining room table for 4, to the left was a sleeper sofa and TV then a few steps further was a sink with a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. Next was a big bathroom and large bedroom with another TV, dresser, desk, and safe. Everything was very clean and organized.

Since we were downtown we took the opportunity to walk around the city and were lucky enough to enjoy the 1st annual Rotary Club Parade in downtown Orlando.

After returning to the room I recieved a text from Joshua asking, “How is everything in your room?” It also continued by saying “Remember we are here to Make it Right for you”.

I was having a problem with their WiFi so Joshua took that extra step by saying that he would be right up to our room to help me. That was incredible service. He was extremely knowledgeable and had me up and going in no time. Joshua gave us 2 complimentary drink vouchers for our inconvenience. A Big Wow!!

Later we joined other guests in the lobby bar for the daily reception with complimentary snacks and drinks. This is a very large open atrium with lots of tables, chairs, sofas, and TVs. Breakfast is also served here in the mornings.

As the night went on I had one more small issue. I reached to pull the shower curtain closed and it wasn’t there. (That’s proof they clean them between guests). I texted my new friend Joshua and he had housekeeping in our room with a shower curtain in 5 minutes. All was great the rest of the night.

The EMBASSY offers Free Breakfast every morning. On weekends from 7:30-10:30 and weekdays from 6:30-9:30. Breakfast was quite tasty with eggs, omelets, bacon, sausage, grits, variety of breads, cereals, and yogurt also coffee, juices, and sodas. The only disappointment was they were out of regular coke. Thank Heaven for 7-eleven next door.

After breakfast we had a nice relaxing stormy day hanging out in the hotel watching football and enjoying snacks and Complimentary drinks.

After a great day it was time to get some sleep before getting back to reality. So we thought…..at 2:35am the fire alarm started going off and an announcement was made to use the stairs and evacuate the building. We took the emergency exit which lead us to the rear of the hotel then we had to walk around to the front. I was quite disappointed that no hotel employees were outside directing us. We followed other guests back in the hotel, to the elevator, and finally back to our room. I think the hotel let the ball drop with that. No follow up announcement and no kind of apology.

This Embassy Suites is located downtown Orlando. It is a block from Lake Eola and a couple of blocks from the Doctor Phillips Center on the other side while walking distance to the Amway Center and Church Street Station. The rooms are very spacious suites with a mini refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, safe, and sleeper soda. You can enjoy free WiFi, a fitness room, a swimming pool, complimentary breakfast, and a reception with complimentary drinks and snacks.

I was quite shocked at the parking situation. Valet parking is $26.00 per night or you can self park for $17.00 per night across the street. This seems a bit high for me even if it is downtown.

Overall we had an awesome weekend. And I would recommend this property to anyone who has an event downtown Orlando as it is centrally located and clean with great customer service. Even though we had a couple of minor issues, customer service out ways these things any day of the week.
