I love searching for shark teeth. You always dream of the HUGE find. It’s like going fishing and catching that 20 pound bass or going hunting and getting a 14 point buck.<\/p>\n

Millions of years ago megalodon sharks existed. They were large enough to swallow a car. Can you imagine that?<\/p>\n

Anyway the Venice, Florida area is an awesome place to find shark teeth. It is known as the “Shark Tooth Capital of the World” because of all the teeth that wash up on their beaches year after year. Every year Venice has a SHARK TOOTH FESTIVAL at the Venice Airport Festival Grounds.<\/p>\n

This is an awesome festival. Of course, you can find megalodon and shark teeth here. Fossil collectors are highlighted here. They come from all over the southeast to display and sell their shark teeth and other prehistoric fossils. They also have lots of vendors and food trucks. Many of the booths are hand made items. Lots of crafts. Anything you can think of from yard and home gadgets, signs, games, jewelry, and much more. I go to many festivals and this is the most reasonable priced festival I have ever seen.<\/p>\n

They have a kids play area and live entertainment as well. The event last 3 days – a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.<\/p>\n

Admission is $5.00 per adult and kids are FREE. All proceeds going to Special Olympics – Sarasota County.<\/p>\n

If you want to experience an awesome festival put this one on your calendar for next year April 3-5, 2020. You won’t be disappointed.<\/p>\n

I use a shark tooth rake or some call it a sand rake<\/a>. Also sifters or very helpful. You get more teeth if you are prepared with all your tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
